WHAT IS LIFELINE?
Lifeline is a Federal program that lowers the monthly cost of phone and internet. Eligible customers will get up to $9.25 discount off their bill each month. You can use Lifeline for either phone or internet, but not both.
WHAT IS EBB?
The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB), was established to help lower the cost of high-speed internet for eligible households during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Benefits: Up to $50 per month discount for broadband services. The Emergency Broadband Benefit is limited to one monthly service discount per eligible household.
Who is eligible for Lifeline?
If you participate in one of these following government programs, you qualify:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Medicaid
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
Veterans Pension or Survivors Pension
Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) General Assistance
Tribally-Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Tribal head Start
Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
Who is eligible for the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB)?
If you participate in one of these following government programs, you qualify:
Lifeline program, Medicaid, awarded a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year, or receive SNAP benefits.
Free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision, or did so in the 2019-2020 school year.
Additional Recipients:
Experienced a substantial loss of income since February 29, 2020, and the household had a total income in 2020 below $99,000 for single filers and $198,000 for joint filers.
Meet the eligibility criteria for a participating provider’s existing low-income or COVID-19 program.

When Can Eligible Households Sign Up for EBB?
The FCC expects the Emergency Broadband Benefit program to be open to eligible households on May 12, 2021. Please check the FCC’s website,
